CONSTITUTION RULES NOW
In the age of Obama-Constitutional-Threat-O-Mania, consider viewing calls from annoying telemarketers and charity requests as an opportunity to educate the uninformed.
Example 1 (ring ring)
Irritating Telemarketer Example #1
“I am calling from XYZ Travel Agent and I would like to ask you about your travel habits.” Typically, such a call is considered annoying and unacceptable. “Oh yes,” you agree. “How many times do you plan to travel in the next year,” they ask? “Unfortunately, we are unable to go anywhere during the next four years because President Obama and the Congress is raising our taxes to pay for the 10 trillion dollar deficit that we will be facing for the next decade. I’m terribly worried. Especially since the CBO says our economy will be unsustainable. I’m afraid traveling is out of the question. Call back in four years and we’ll chat then.”
Telemarketer Example #2 ring ring
“Yes….mam….I’m calling to see if you would like to sign up for chimney sweeping services this year?” (I don’t have a chimney but he doesn’t need to know). “Oh…we really could use a chimney sweep but unfortunately the President is putting forth some very unconstitutional policies. Frankly, we are forced to hold on to every cent. We’re just going to have to take our chances. Please call back in four years and hopefully, we’ll get someone in there who can reverse all this huge big government waste and theft of our children’s future.”
Charity call - ring ring
“We’re calling to see if you are able to make a contribution to ABC Charity this year?” This is the perfect opportunity to educate about your increase in taxes due to the massive governmental spending but also tell them about… “I’m sorry but the Government has lowered our tax deduction rate from 35% to 28% and the combination of the two makes it nearly impossible to be as generous as we have in year’s past. The Gov’t now decides where our money should be spent.”
Imagine if all the informed conservatives were to view telemarketing calls as an opportunity to get someone thinking.......hmmmmmm
